for me, currently this is the best firewall in the market.
but im talking of engineering, not Comodo selling certificates to malware authors... after trying OA, PCTools, GData, Outpost, Mcafee, Kerio... if i would use a firewall other than windows, this would be it. but i say it again, im talking of pure engineering, not of privacy, ethics, etc

This has been in the top 3 or so for a good while now. I used it with XP but not with Vista or 7.

Seems like your guess was right after all
I simply do not trust Comodo products anymore - not because of the "Comodo selling certificates to malware authors" issue but rather because Comodo software simply doesn't play nice on my PC. I've used the Comodo system cleaner and I swear it's far too agressive and as for the firewall, it just locked me out the internet for no apparent reason...and the installer 'insisted' on having the Comodo AV on my machine despite me telling it not to. Sorry but Comodo is one company whose software I wouldn't recommend to anyone whom I consider a friend...heck, I might not even recommend my enemy to use it

Agree that the System Cleaner is quite aggressive, as even it screwed my desktop appearance and wat not...i simply restored all changes and uninstalled it...
Comodo Firewall well it never happened to me neither did it lock me from using internet nor did it force me to install its AV, may be that was a bug in their installer that even after u saying no it got installed...
One Firewall i always wish to try but can't is OA Free & Premium both...No idea y it hates me so much that after i install my Windows would not load [kernel won't load]....so i left it same problem i encountered with v4....so i left hope to try it, though saw how it is on Virtual Box...
Off topic that was, but for Me COMODO Always Rocked!!!

I haven't tried OA before too but that's because the installer won't allow me to when I tried the last time I downloaded it. I was about to install OA when a message pop up saying that I can't as I'm connected to a domain (my school) and that the Free version isn't allowed to be used for commercial purposes...
But heck...it wasn't. It's for my own personal home use. Duh...
P.S. I also read that Comodo firewall isn't user-friendly for newbies...another reason for me to strike it off my list.

95 views is not bad...
i really dont care about this firewall for newbies concept; if you are a newbie and you're not willing to learn how to use a firewall, go with windows firewall... anyway, alternatives to OA and COmodo firewall style are black-boxes like PCTools & Outpost... yuck!

For me too COMODO is the best choice.....because i like so much Avast 5,COMODO is the only firewall who play perfectly with it....i've tried OA,Outpost, big slow downs with them and Avast...although,they play very nice with the other AV...PC Tools's HIPS are weak enough to make me stay away from it,plus doesn't have an option to terminate a running program.I don't care that is the 2nd on matousec.
